I had a whim of an idea to make my resolutions via Instagram photos. In case you haven't heard, but I adore Instagram. What a great way to share pictures without feeling the stress of perfection. Photo not perfect? Who cares, it's an iPhone pic!
So here are my 2012 resolutions, via pictures!
Sparkle: I want to shine at all I attempt to do in my life. I WILL be proud of my accomplishments and I WILL learn from my mistakes.
Creativity. I will foster my creativity and feel inspired by ordinary things. I want to instill this trait in my children as well. Despite what you may think about yourself, everyone has some sort of creative bone in their body. I once believed I was not "creative". Today I stand before you a photographer, a sewer (totally not a seamstress yet), a novice crocheter and lover of all things crafty.
Unique. I want to figure out who I am without the judgement of outside sources. Who do I want to be? I want to find my unique style in photography as well. My mission for my business in 2012 is to hone in on my unique style as a photographer. This will be tough, but worth it in the end.
Fibers. This one is simple, I want to continue to create. For myself, for my family and perhaps even for others in the distant future.
Growth. Become a better version of me. A better mother, a better wife, a better friend. Most of all, be a better Michelle.
Whimsy. Allow myself to feel like a child again. I want to see the world through their whimsical eyes. How much more interesting would this world be if I could accomplish this one!
Fun. Allow myself to have more fun. Sometimes life gets in the way of really enjoying all the small moments. I am going to try very hard to enjoy it all.
Self-confidence. Find it somewhere in my being to truly be satisfied in my own skin. This is very difficult for me and honestly may require counseling. I am my biggest critic and I don't like being that way. This will be a long road for this one but I must resolve to try.
Movement. Exercise more, in any manner. I don't want exercise to be a swear word anymore! I have this problem, you see, exercise for me has always been, go big or go home. I have the mind frame that if I am not pushing myself to the limit, it's not worth it. That mindset has got to go. Any amount of movement (even walking) makes a difference in my life, and it's ok to take a walk instead of a run some days. Some is better than none, that's for sure.
2011 was a fantastic year for me and my family. 2012 WILL be even better. Want to play along? I'd love to see your resolutions via pictures. Resolutions are so much more fun when you can visualize them, so what are you waiting for? Go get snappin'!

Nice list and a fun way to document your resolutions!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of resolutions. I'm impressed!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Years!
I love this idea! Too bad I don't have instagram. :( And I love your resolutions, they ones that I think every person can relate to! (I, especially, can relate to the one about being my own worst critic and exercise being a swear word!) Lastly, I LOVE the fingerprint picture! I tend to be a Macro photographer, so of course I gravitated to that one! ;)
