I've never really been a big participator in the Black Friday hustle and bustle. Making my way through crowded stores at the ass crack of dawn just doesn't really appeal to me, even if the deals are good. I did it last year and considered doing it again this year but I've come up with a new idea.
I'd like to declare Friday as a stay at home and use what we have day. Meaning, get your craft on using only things you have in your home. I have so many skeins of yarn, so many yards of fabric, buttons, papers, eyelets, etc, why shouldn't I stay home and make gifts using supplies I've already *paid* for. I think it would be irresponsible for me to go spend more money, right?
Just to get your juices flowing, I did a little researching or you.
Here are a few ideas (courtesy of Pinterest) for you and your crafty self! All of these can be found on my DIY Holiday Gifts board on Pinterest.
I love these lovely ideas for making a unique case for all of our technologies. What a beautiful way to store your iPad or iPhone!
I really wanted to make these coasters for Mother's Day but never got around to it, maybe now's the time!
Holy cuteness, buttons + bobby pins or clips for that little lady in your life? Too cute!
Old frame + spray paint + ribbon + scrapbooking paper = awesome place to store earring, other jewelry or bows. I made one of these for my studio, it looks much prettier than tossing them in a bag!
Old t-shirt turned into a scarf! Brilliant and fun!
These little bows are too adorable, too easy and can be used for just about anything!
These last two are the gifts I will be giving all of the kids' teachers (5 of them!). Soap in a mason jar + pretty hand towels would make me one happy gal! I've already put together one of the towels for myself and I love it. I bought some pretty vintage fabric (already cut in squares) for a buck or so at an antique store, done! Wahoo.
These frames are super easy, and that bag looks super easy.
I just love this for that little fella or gal in your life. I just might make my sweet nephew one of these!
And we can't forget the dudes in our life. I love that license plate key holder. Bennett would LOVE that! And those handtowels for men? Awesome.
So dainty!
And every coffee or tea drinker needs one of these. How easy to whip up? And, it's helping to reduce waste!
I love all the awesome ideas used with buttons. I've seen buttons used to make monogrammed framed pictures (which each of my kids NEED). So easy and it really makes an impact.
These puzzle piece necklaces look so simple, an eyelet, old puzzle piece and a chain. My girls would love this as a gift and I just might be making them for them! Maybe a keychain for bud.
I made something like this last year, but put a picture on it as well. Mod podge is a girl's best friend, I promise.
A no sew bow pillow? Please! How cute is this?
Ok, so what will you make on Black Friday?
